Despite all our scientific discoveries and everything we have learned about the observable universe, we are still living in Plato’s cave. We can describe much of what we see, but no one can yet offer a complete explanation of why it all exists or what ultimately lies behind it. Perhaps what we call knowledge is still only a glimpse of the shadows on the wall.
