Privacy Policy for Intentful

Effective date: June 2, 2026

Intentful helps users use distracting apps more intentionally by showing an intention screen before selected apps open.

Information Intentful Stores

Intentful stores the following information locally on your device:

– Your chosen name or nickname
– Selected intentional actions
– Selected protected apps
– Selected contacts or apps for direct actions
– Action history, including the protected app opened, action selected, and timestamp
– Permission status

This information is stored locally on your device using Android DataStore. Intentful does not sell this information.

Permissions

Accessibility:
Intentful uses Accessibility only to detect when selected protected apps are opened. Intentful does not read messages, passwords, typed text, or personal content.

Overlay:
Intentful uses overlay permission to display the intention screen before selected apps open.

Contacts:
Intentful does not request broad contacts permission. If you choose a contact, Android’s contact picker lets you select that contact intentionally.

Notifications:
Intentful uses notifications to tell you when your Open Anyway time has expired.

Battery:
Intentful may ask you to allow unrestricted battery use so app detection and timers work reliably.

Data Sharing

Intentful does not send personal data to a backend server in the current version.

Intentful does not sell user data.

Data Retention

Intentful data remains on your device unless you delete the app or clear the app’s data.

Children

Intentful is not designed specifically for children under 13.
